You've done the hard work, now it's time to embed a culture of innovation in your organisation
You’ve done all the hard work; all the research and scoping, all the education and structural changes and now you are ready to embed your culture of innovation within your organisation. It is tempting at this stage to take a step back, to turn your attention to other elements of your organisation which may have been neglected whilst you were designing and defining your innovation culture.
It’s tempting, but it is the last thing you should do. However much you’d like to create a seamless integration by just telling people to ‘make it so,’ if you step back now then you are stepping back from any chance of culture change. So this is the time when you have to be true to your beliefs, when you have to work to not only embed a culture of innovation within your organisation but also to create the conditions which will enable that culture to grow and develop over time. As Cris Beswick says, building a culture of innovation is not rocket science but you can’t just light the fuse and expect your new organisational structure to burst into life.
So this is the time when all of your work in anticipating and overcoming objections comes into play, this is the time when your i-agents really come into their own, and this is the time when the roadmap which you designed will start to have a measurable impact.
