In February 2017 Public Health England launched its digital strategy which was designed to open up discussion both across the health service and into the wider public arena. The discussion document which accompanied the launch commented that: “This is a time of digital innovation. Technology is continually changing the way people live, interact, learn, play and work.” It went on to highlight the importance of digital technology in today’s world with one of the PHE’s six drivers of change being the use of “new behavioural change techniques combined with digital and mobile technology.”
